Football can be a frustrating sport to watch. Even if we ignore the players diving or asking for things that they know they shouldn’t get, like a corner when they touched the ball last or for an opposition player to be booked when they were caught, it is still a sport that can wind you up. You might feel that your wager on a team winning is safe when they go 2-0, for example, only for the old adage of 2-0 being the most dangerous score to prove to be correct. The good news is that BoyleSports have an Early Payout offer just for that scenario.

What BoyleSports are Offering

When it comes to betting on football matches, you can never really comfortable. There have been countless examples over the years of punters feeling as though their bet was as good as a winner, only for the footballing gods to decide that that isn’t the case. Imagine having bet on Barcelona to make the final of the Champions League in the 2018-2019 season, for example, and seeing them win the first-leg against Liverpool 3-0. That’s a lock, right? History tells us that it isn’t, with Liverpool coming back to win the second-leg 4-0.

The Merseysiders were also involved in another Champions League shock, coming back from 3-0 down in the final of the competition in 2005 to beat AC Milan on penalties and lift the trophy for the fifth time. Other teams have also staged such improbable comebacks, which can wreak havoc on any wagers you might have decided to place. Although the comeback against Barcelona wouldn’t have been saved by BoyleSports’ latest promotion, the ‘Miracle of Istanbul’ would have been if you’d been betting on AC Milan.

That is because BoyleSports are saying that they will offer an Early Payout on pre-match bets placed on the 1X2 market, should the team that you bet on to win take an early lead by two goals or more. A bet on that AC Milan side in 2005, then, would’ve been paid out on as soon as the Italians went 2-0 up, with the 3-0 scoreline just solidifying your choice. The fact that Liverpool came back to draw 3-3 wouldn’t have made any difference to you getting your payout on AC Milan winning thanks to the method of the promotion.

What Are the Rules of the Promotion?

BoyleSports Football Match Betting

Perhaps unsurprisingly, there are some rules that you need to know about ahead of looking to take advantage of the BoyleSports promotion. For starters, your bet has to be placed ahead of kick-off, so in-play wagers won’t qualify. Similarly, it is only the case for 90 minutes of play plus stoppage time, so if your chosen team goes 2-0 up in an extra-time period then that won’t count towards your bet being paid out. You can get paid out on both Single and Multiple wagers, however, so that is worth bearing in mind when choosing what you’re betting on.

It is also worth remembering that how much you can win will depend on the eventual result. Although you will be paid out on a team winning a game if they take a two goal or more lead within the game, if the eventual result means that you’ve been paid as a winner on a result that would have been a loser without the promotion being in place then you will only be paid a maximum of £50,000. Obviously that may not be a problem for the vast majority of people, but if you’re the sort of person who likes to bet more than that then you might want to limit your stake in this instance.

The fact that the promotion also applies to accumulator bets is something that some people will want to take advantage of, given the fact that accas can often be let down by a team coming from behind to get a draw or even win the game. The other key point is that it is valid if your team goes two goals or more ahead at any point in the 90 minutes, so two quick goals to put a team 2-0 up in the first five minutes, for example, will trigger an Early Payout even if they go on to lose the game 5-2 at full-time.

Is it a Good Offer?

BoyleSports Football BetslipOn the face of it, this certainly looks like a good offer. In many ways it is, given the fact that you won’t want to be placing a bet on a team to win, see them go 3-1, 5-2 or some such score ahead in a game only to then end up losing it. The problem is, such a promotion can also tempt people to place wagers that they wouldn’t ordinarily look to place, at which point any value in the bet goes out of the window.

That is to say, you might be the sort of person who bets on things like the number of corners in a game, how many bookings the referee will dole out or specific in-play markets. You might tend to avoid the likes of the pre-match 1X2 market because you know how tricky it can be, so placing a wager on a team to win the game might look like good value if you’ve got the protection of an Early Payout, but it won’t be if it’s not something you’ve done the requisite amount of research on before placing it.

Similarly, it is not out of the realms of the possible that you don’t normally bet on football matches and instead know much more about tennis, golf or horse racing. If that is the case, you would be mistaken to place a football bet just because of this promotion. Stick to what you know, but if what you know is football and you are used to placing pre-match bets on the winner then the protection of an Early Payout can be ideal.
